Hi Roy

I canât say that I have ever used Wassell carbs myself but Iâve heard that theyâre ok. The original 930 and 932 Amal carbs suffered from worn slides but the âpremierâ slides on the modern versions seem to have overcome the problem? What bike are they for?

I have some racing buddies that race with them on Victors (successfully)

I think they are just licensed copies of the Amal anyway?

i have had quality issues with an Amal concentric and a monoblock. The concentric had a partially blocked pilot circuit (now clear) and there is something wrong with the jet block on the monoblock, it jams the slide when tightened down, I had to fit the old one in the end to stop the throttle sticking.

I Should have bought a mikuni!

I don't suppose for one minute that Amal have changed the material that they make their bodies out of. They may supply anodised slides now to overcome the wear problems but if Wassel use alloy any harder than Amal it's got to be a bonus. What is the price difference? If you don't like the look of them when they arrive send them back.
