Hi, Does anyone have any factory dimensions for positioning the 'Norton' and '750 Commando' decals on tank and side panels...or is it just a case of gauging the position from photos?

Thanks Neill,
Shouldn't the side panel decals be parallel with the bottom of the side panel rather than the top?
Cheers, Len

Side panels
Hi Len
I meant parallel to the top of the Z plate, not top of the panel. It's a convenient reference point to catch the eye and show a misaligned decal. However whatever gives the result you like personally is correct!

Place side panels on bike, set decals so they are parallel to ground. Trick is to create a template prior to removing the old decal and repainting.

I took these dimensions from my tank before having it re-painted. It is an 850 MkIII. Interstate.

750 Roadster '73
Thanks Guys - really helpful.
I should've perhaps mentioned that mine is a 750 Roadster registered '73.
One is never sure whether the photos on line are original - there is huge variation and some look wrong.
However, I have found a photo which 'looks right' and that is what I will use if all else fails but I'm sure there must've been some process sheet or template/tool (and therefore drawing) to position these during production - I can't believe it was discretionary.
Thanks again chaps.

Just aerosoled my Black Gold Mk3 Interstate side panels minus E start script. Aligned to my own preference, slightly above centre and roughly equal front and rear, parallel to Z plate
Tank to do next, current Norton logo position looks fine so will measure distance from bottom of tank to bottom of Norton decal with a front to rear reference. Align with side panels so they all look to be on the same plane with everything in place on the bike.
Roadster side panels look awful with the lettering pointing upwards totally out of line with the tank bottom.
