Please advise, Changing the Main Bearings on my 71/72 Commando from Ball and Roller to Superblends. Superblends supplied have the inner race removable. Question which way round do they go? i.e do the Rollers go on the Crank first and a secured by the innre race or the other way around

as I understand it I think the answer to your question is 'the other way round'.

The inner races go onto the crankshaft with shoulder innermost against the crank cheek. This orientation allows the outer races, which, complete with cages and rollers, -are an interference fit in their crankcase housings, to simply slide onto the inner races when the crankcase valves are brought together. The crankshaft consequently floats on the inner races, with endfloat limited by shims (if required) to 0,010" - 0,024". The shims fit between the inner races and crank cheeks.
