Re: commando race exhausts

Forums

Hi,

Have a seeley type frame -Jax special from 72, picked up a 72 750 commando engine for it as it was originally built that spec. at moment has 64 bonnie engine in it.The DVLA says had a number of cb750 engines fitted.

I had a look at archives for Road holder under exhaust and there is fair bit about exhausts in the index but Archives don't go back far enough, Looking to put 2 into 1 but has anyone dimensions, drawing to make one up.

Bike is as I got it and as it is today comes with dunstall half fairing and seat not shown.

Any help much apricated as have to identify all the parts fitted fork etc,

thanks in advance

Hi John.

Unfortunately I don't have any drawings or dimensions but I have used Nigel at NRP exhausts for a three systems for a 1962 Manx, an Aermacchi and a SS125 Honda I have. He can make a bespoke system in stainless or mild steel at a reasonable price. Nigel makes the systems for Minovation Racing who build new G50's which are beautifully turned out.

NRP Exhausts, Unit 1 Brailford Close, Bilsthorpe, Nr Newark. Notts. NG22 8UG

Tel. 01623 411191 He is closed on Mondays.

I have also used Richard at Competition Fabrications. Not cheap but very good.

Competition Fabrications. 15 Bunns Bank Rd. Attleborough. Norfolk. NR17 1QD.

Tel. 01953 454573

I have no interest in either of the companies but am happy to recommend either.

Hi John

If you look for tuning the Norton twin pdf Steve Robinson you will see the recommended lengths shown.

Rawson exhausts on Facebook will make you a system. He is related to unity who's brochure used to show dimensions as well.

I run a Maney system. As you say he has not made them for many years. Brookings system is based on Steve's system with his agreement. The clever part is the actual manifold on these systems. Minovation are supplied by NRP not sure why they didn't pick up the design.

Chris
