I would like to arrange ventilation in my primary chaincase to keep the belt drive cooler.
Has anyone had this done? What pattern of ventilation works well - holes? slots?
Are there any recommended people who can do this at a reasonable price?

Yes, they really are a work of art, I have just bought a set for a1972 Roadster beltdrive conversion. They really look the part, and since I haven't really had cooling problems even without venting holes, I expect these to be more than adequate. I decided to go for this solution instead of butchering the cover.

Iain/Tom,
Thanks for the link, on two counts. These people had escaped my notice so it's into the Suppliers and Services directory with them later today. Either way, I have to spend something on venting the chaincase and this looks like a suitable way to go. Thank heavens that Sterling is heading back against the US Dollar in a way that suits me over here.

Hi Chris,i have 2 commando's with belt drives ,the first i bought a damaged cover (from footpeg) i filled the dent and painted it gloss black and fitted the vented plugs ,looks nice.
The second bike had a damaged cover (foot peg again)so i drew a circle around the rear cap ,with the circle cutting through the damaged area ,divided the circle into 5 equal parts and using a hole saw drilled 5 holes. With 1 hole drilling out the dent. Doing it this way i still have at least one goodcover. Hope this gives you some ideas.Steve

Chris,
you could try (or have made) vented plugs as in the link below.
