Norvil electric starter kit for belt drives

Forums

Hi all - for your info - I've spoken to Les Emery at Norvil ref the proposed electric starter conversion for belt drive primaries. I was concerned ref which belt drives it will work with. He states that it will work with any belt drive of 30 or 32mm width (i.e not wider race belts). Apparently the drive from the starter will be belt rather than chain to negate the need for lubrication. Apparently the kit should be available at the end of September.

Doesn't the sprag clutch need lubrication, or have they found a way to do away with this part of the mechanism?
