Need to get an engine sprocket puller tool

Forums

Hi All

I need to replace the crankshaft oil seal on my 72 Commando as it leaks into the primary case badly.

Where can I buy the puller tool? Only place online is an ebay outfit called nortonbits. I am not on ebay or paypal following a narrow escape from a scam attempt.

Does anyone know where else these are available? Google is no help!

Thanks Nick

Make a tool.........the sprocket should have two holes for a puller.
I used a short piece of steel bar, two long studs and 4 UNF nuts.
The picture below shows a simpler version that used two long bolts.
Pullernuts.

Hi Appreciate the suggestion not sure I have the engineering skills or kit for such an undertaking!

Thanks Nick

I don't have one but I removed the triplex sprocket on my Commando using two bolts through the tapped holes pushing against the inner cover.Once determining in my own mind as to how much force was being generated using this method I then struck the end of the drive shaft with a copper mallet and presto. It'll be on eBay soon along with the clutch basket and chain as a for sale item!!

... Dunlop flat tyre levers about 1.5" wide that I've drilled several holes in to make a variety of pullers like this. It still works as a tyre lever!
