If its a proper MK3 assy then I think both sides have to be equal. There are 'MK3' kits available which are already adjusted to length, Norvil's for example.

STOP!!! Dont alter the front mount you dont have to call RGM Motors or Norvil ( i find RGM almost always cheaper andparts arrivenext day to) if you have other parts the only different part you need is the threaded adjuster which they both sell a special thinner one to save modifing mountwhen its covered by gatterrubbers no one will know its there and if you dont get the end face square when you sortern it then there will be tight stop at one side of mount and lose at other side meaning nightmear try to set clearance. Call either they are always helpfull and have normaly heard it all before so know what you need the part costs £9.90 plus vat from RGM its stainless steel to so why try modifing the mount its just making work that could ruin what your trying to improve.I have spent 25 years in engineering work in toolroom for 16 years now i turn the magor parts in Rolls Royce jet engines so i think i could be said to know at least a little about procession engineering and in all honnesty i would not thin the mount its alot harder than it looks to get face square with propper machine tools and knowledge. I am not trying to blow my own trumpit just let you know i know what am talking about and i put my money where my mouth is to because that what i have done so make your life easy and talk to them is my advice. Have fun Karl
