Lucas headlamp panel screws

Forums

Hello Nortoneers!

I am not sure if this post should be here, or in electrical?

I need to order 3 new screws to hold down the headlamp panel on the Lucas MCH58 headlamp on my '57 model 77. I have a screw that fits the hole (but has the wrong head) it has a diameter of .155, and has a thred pitch somewhere between 34 TPI & 36 TPI (my pitch gage has no sizes between those two). I know that a5/32 CEI had a dia. of .1563 with 32 TPI & a 3BA has a diameter of .161 with 34.8 TPI. Neither of these seem to match, but I am leaning tward the 3ba as I know the 32 TPI for the CEI is not correct. The Lucas Part number is 106491 & the washer is part numer 185026. Also, can anyone tell me what shape head this screw would have?

Thanks,

Skip Brolund

Lucas loved 3BA and used it everywhere.I think they had a slightly domed head and a wide slot.Ive seen claims that the odd no BAs were never used, obviously never owned a British motorbike.Regards John.
