I fitted valve stem lash caps and one of them split its top off when the engine was running!. I also fitted mushroom type tapppet adjusters and I snapped one when tightening the lock nut.

Oh dear, I have valve stem caps too. They were a nice snug fit ove the stem. Where did you get them from? I think mine are from RGM.
