Indicators for '72 Commando

Forums

I want to fit indicators to my 72 750. I am more interested in visibility, safety and reliability than originality.

Suggestions for nice looking modern alternatives to The Prince of Darkness originals

Can I use LED bulbs?

Thanks

Hi the lucas ones can be made to work perfectly well, if you add an earth wire to each one, and use a modern flasher unit. Mine flash regularly at tickover and with headlights on.

Hi Nik,

I too have fitted Gen Lucas indicators this year after 32 years continuous Commando ownership. I got fed up with Jam Jars trying to knock me off on the way to work! No problems so far and easy to fit, I personally don't think the small modern types look right.

All the best.

I use std lucas. You can use LED but these will need to be +ve earth if your bike is +ve earth. If you use LEDs for front and rear you will need to change your flasher unit - I use LEDs for the rear indicators, but std bulbs for the front and the stock flasher is fine for this.
