Looking for the thread size of the front wheel spindle, I can read here and there UNF 9/16 18 TPI and UNF 9/16 20 TPI. Which one is the good one on a 1974 Commando?

The Correct Axle
Most Commandos had front and rear axles with UNF threads. This should also apply to the stub axle on those machines with drum rear brakes.

9/16 UNF is 18 tpi 9/16 x 20 is cycle thread (earlier machines)
