Hi Joe and Eddie.

Thank you both for the interest and advice regarding my MP Forks.

I did as Eddie suggested and removed the bolt that goes up through the bottom of the Fork Leg. Luckily I had no problem with the Damper turning, and could then slide the Stantion and Damper up through the Seals and out of the Leg.

There are 2 seals on top of each other and the Top one prised out easily. The bottom one is harder but there is plenty of room now the Stantion is out of the way so I do not expect any real problems if I approach it slowly and carefully.

There is no retaining device for the Seals. The Circlip you remember Eddie is up in the bottom of the Stantion and must retain the Damper into the Stantion.

Cheers.

Mick.

i vaguely remember the double seal arrangement but it was a long time ago .i regretfully sold them along with the grimeca 4ls, conical rear and wideline frame with logbook etc, oh those were the days, to pay for a touring holiday for me and the missus.

now its apart might as well make something up to stopdampers turning when re assembling and for future,

Eddie,

Was at Metisse Motorcycles some months ago and saw them machining Metal Profile forks for the "Steve Mc Queen Desert Racers", so thought they must be able to help you.

Regards

Joe
