Forums
Hi, Oh most informed ones, I appear to have lost the distance piece between engine plates(connection to footrests),cannot find any part in spares,I wondered if I could fabricate one given the correct overall length? Many thanks Jim

Hi Jim, I've just measured across the inner faces of my bikes rear engine plates and as close as I can get the distance piece would be 3 and 5/16 inches long. Obviously the inner diameter of the tube would be a loose fit over the footrest mounting rod, the tubing should have enough strength to withstand the compression without distorting, and it would be best to ensure that the ends of the tubing are cut square and flat. Regards, Rob.

Many thanks Rob, could you please confirm that the original spacer did'nt have 2 lugs each end to locate into holes of engine plate holes. Cheers Jim

There are no lugs on my mercury. The lugs are on the outer fittings. Mine measures 83.5mm in length and 19mm outer diameter. Apologies for the metric measurements.
