Electric Starter conversion

Forums

Hi Chaps - for some time I've been following the progress of the Brit-Bikes (USA) Commando electric starter conversion - it looks as though they are ready to start marketing it but it seemsvery expensive and complex to fit. QPD in the States also make a similar kit (unsure of cost). I now see that Alton (France) are hoping to market what looks to be a simpler system at circa 1300 Euros - I gather it was shown at Stafford last week - have any of you seen it and any opinions ? The only problem I can see is that it seems to require the original primary chain etc. and many of us (including me) have converted to belt primary drive.

Cheers,

Hi Mark

I saw the system at Stafford and it looks very good. Very neat and well executed - they started the bike using the system and of course it worked fine! They said the price will be 1400 Euro and be available from July of this year.?

Good luck - Peter

Hi Jake

Yes these are more robust systems for the ES Mk3 Commando whereas the two earlier enquiries were for pre Mk 3 750 and 850's?

I've still no word on the availability of Paul Hamon's Alton system, but if it ever goes into production should sell very well!
