Has anybody had any problems fastening the three hole cover plate.
When I bought the bike the plate was not fitted, but was supplied with one and a blank spare, I bought some m3x12mm stainless bolts and tried to drill the six holes ready to tap out at 3mm, thats when my troubles started, three 2.5 mm drill bits later (blunted) I bought new ones that would drill stainless steel (if thats what is in the hub, then no they don't)
Now I know why this plate was not fitted, anybody any ideas?
Pete.

I drilled small pilot hole…
I drilled small pilot holes alongside the remains of the drive screws and used small stainless self tappers to hold the cover plate on. Worked a treat.

Same as Gordon, no problem. Don't forget the small stainless self tappers.
A pilot hole is all you need.

Hi Peter,
Hammer Drive Screws, pot hard, I don't know what the answer is, possibly spark erosion, or maybe just drill alongside as near as possible that will still allow the hub sleeve nuts out though the holes, they are only about 2mm diameter to begin with.
Good Luck!
Chers,
Niall
Thanks for the info Niall.

Peter, I bought some stain…
Peter, I bought some stainless ones from RGM but any will do. They are only about 1/3" or less, long. About 8mm if you are going all foreign on me!

Thanks again Neil, before I bought this Dommi, I was Metrified, but now I'm slowly being drawn back to my old Imperial ways.

Funnily enough I was doing this very thing this morning to a Domi wheel. Self tappers were about 1/4" or 6mm long.

All I did was cut the originals off as close to the hub as possible, then drive the remaining part further into the hole,I then screwed the stainless screws into the holes, you could use loctite on the screws if you wish.
all the best
