Dommi 99 Wideline tank

Forums

I am replacing the GRP "Manx" style tank on my 1959 Dommi with a secondhand Norton steel tank but it has no obvious fixings. It seems I'll have to use the strap system from the big Manx one, but surely that is not right? Any advice?

Hi Tom,

The rear end of the strap fixes to the tool tray under the front of the seat as shown in the attachment. The front of the strap is bent into a rube-like end with a groove cut into the center allowing a bolt to go through the strap and through the lug at the rear of the head-stock. Fred Williams can supply the complete strap, his phone number is 01234 624117.

Many Thanks, Rob. I no longer have the tool tray, as a previous owner removed it to fit the big tank. I will try to find one or make up a cross-member for the bolt. Your photos were invaluable. Tom.
