Dominator 99 pushrod - part numbers needed

Forums

There appears to be a 'hens teeth' situation arising with regard to Model 99 pushrods. The NOC Spares Scheme have agreed to investigate the possibility of getting some manufactured to original specs but need the part numbers. Which I have not got.

We are talking about the pre- 1960, non SS type of pushrods. Most people call them the 'thin' or 'parallel sided' types. They suit the Model 99 and 77 twin cylinder 600cc engines with alloy heads manufactured from roughly 1956 to 1961.

My notes indicate lengths of : 8.210 inlet, 7.366 exhaust.

Can someone dig out their parts catalogue and supply the correct numbers asap please?

My parts list (Publication PS206) shows the following:

Model 99 inlet M14/82

Model 99 exhaust M14/82

Hope this helps

You can use the 'fat' ones from the 650SS - just be careful about the head gasket protruding into the pushrod tunnel and rubbing on the pushrods. People say you can't - but I have.

Mike.......thanks for the numbers. I will pass these on asap.

Gordon. You are not wrong about using SS pushrods in a 99 engine but inmy experience it is taking a chance unlessit is wearing a later barrel (or SS cylinderhead) with the slightly enlarged tunnels as well as checking the gasket for a good fit. There only needs to be a slight misalignment between the cylinder head, the gasket and barrel tunnel to cause problems when usingthe fatterpushrods.

Hmm, yes indeed Phil. I was using 99 barrel and an SS head when I fitted fat pushrods. I am putting together a 99 engine with a standard 1960 head and fat pushrods. I will proceed with caution. The gasket is in my experience the prime culprit - very frequently they will protrude into the tunnel and saw into the pushrods.

I have had exactly that problem in the past. The fat rods are a pain because the gasket rubs on them.
