Dished washer behind clutch

Forums

I am buying a belt drive conversion for my Dommy, and I have fitted a Commando mainshaft and cluch. Tony Hayward tell me that in addition to the mainshaft circlip, Commandoes have a dished washer, and he doesn't know which way it faces. Can anybody help with a p/n and give me steer as to which way it goes?

In my Commando spares book there is reference to a Clutch location spacer p/n 060747. Which I believe is a thick washer with a recess on one side that slides over the circlip to stop it springing open. More like a sleeved spacer andnot dished.

HOWEVER!!!! On my dommie, the belt drive conversion I fitted did not need this part as the kit came with a special centre that pushed up hard against the shoulder on the gearbox mainshaft. The other end sat inside theclutch bearing.

I believe that you only need to consider circlips and sleeved washers if your gearbox has amainshaft for a Commando Triplex chain..

Thanks v. much Phil, and yes it has the mainshaft for the Commando clutch. Started this project so long ago I can't remember when or how I bought it and the clutch, but before t'internet certainly.

Back in those dim, dark days you had to have a Commando clutch to go belt drive.
