My ,53 Dommie no.7 has been partly restored and a copper cylinder head gasket fitted at some time, probably fairly recently. However only 2 of the front head bolts are fitted and there is a hole for a third just behind them. Should there be a bolt here on this model? If there should be and I insert one, does this mean I need to loosen them all and tighten them in the required order, or can I simply put the missing one in place without doing this? I have the tightening order in a later Dominator book.
Thanks

Yes, do fit the missing bolt. Make sure you get one the correct length - one of the specialist suppliers should be able to advise you. Without this bolt there is a possibility of the head gasket blowing between the cylinders. Assuming all is well with the bike, just add the missing bolt. I wouldn't disturb the rest, except to check that they are all done up to the appropriate torque - usually a modest grunt with a short spanner...
