Chilly riding

Hello

Maybe it was the ‘Battered Mars bar with IrnBru syrup’ I had at a Burns Night Supper yesterday evening …but this morning I just had to get out on the Norton. No more excuses - tax return done, workshop cleaned up, domestic chores sorted (sort of) - and no rain forecast.

You know it when you’ve been out of the saddle for a couple of months… but it all went well. Some eighty miles round trip from Chester into the hills of North Wales with a great burger at Rhug Estate (nr Corwen) half way.It was chilly up there (5°C), and you’re very much on your own, but sunny and dry - just had to watch for the occasional unexpected run-off from sodden fields complete with grit and shingle.

Left hand and my right knee now in need of some tlc but otherwise intact. Commando was flawless and, I felt, appreciated having been taken out. My bones have been reset (!) and my mind’s in a better place.

Worth the effort - I recommend getting out there to  lift body and soul.

Keep ridin’

I went out on the ES2 earlier in the week, just for 25-30 miles.  There was some standing water and wet patches in one or two places but battery is now charged fully charged up and I came back in a good frame of mind.

Thanks for the concern. It tasted good though... goes really well with the Guinness.

Looking at riding there and (hopefully) back. Possibly Portsmouth to Santander, Santander across Spain to Tossa de Mar, Tosser up France to St Malo/ Cherbourg. Back to Blighty. No details sorted as yet and I was wondering if others have made/ are making plans?

I took the Mk3 Commando out last weekend because it was wet!  Managed 100 miles around Bruton / Wincanton and got home feeling pleased to know that it ran perfectly in the wet and through flooded roads.

I now know it's ready for the English summer and the ride to Welsh mountains in April!

Ride it while you can, mark my words.

And did the meat in that burger come from an established butcher, using local pasture fed live stock only? No additives, (like petrol) and like cash, use it or lose it.

However, it always raises a smile knowing other Norton's are on the road.

Now, where on Earth is my Global Boiling?  Fear, anyone..
