I have a fairing which I used on my now long gone 1959 99 and I want to use it on my current 1960 99. Over the years I have lost the parts to attach it at the level of the footrests. I would like to obtain them or get a drawing so that I can have them made. Can anyone help?

Have you tried Sprint Manufacturig? They come up as Triumph parts but also do fittings for Avon.

Ron, thanks for the reply but I have tried them and they stock only the main frame fittings. I have these! If anyone out there has an old fairing with the fittings I need, please get in touch. It's even more difficult to get spares as I am a member of the French Branch of NOC.

hi leslie, what you need is the pre drilled ,soft , malible metal bracket sold in foot long sizes in ironmonger shops or car accessories shops. i believe it can be used as car exhaust hanger bracket. mount your fairing with your main head bracket all tight and in thebest possition before bending and cutting this bracket to fit the bottom of your fairing.support the bottom of the fairing on a strong box or something when mountingyour brachet at the headstock.a vise is idealfor sharp bends and snapping it to size by double bending it. you could use the rubber exhaust mounts on commandos to insulate your fairing from engine vibration. these brackets cost about £2 from ironmongers and you will be able to use the formed bracket to have something more heavy duty and neater made at a welder/ fabricator when your satisfied its the right size for your fairing.to mount the fairing bracket at the headstock i use exhaust clamps to size and the long threaded bar sold in ironmangers , i bend this round ito c shapes to fit around the back of the headstock if there is room, depending on make of bike, and fit to the exhaust clamp to hold your headstock fairing bracket in place.

Hi Eddie, Thanks for your reply. I have the main faeme fittings which attach to the 2 top frame tubes. What I need are the bottom ones at the footrests. As I remember, there was a bar, internally threaded at one end with a threaded stud at the other and this replaced the footrest nut. The fairing bracket screwed onto the outer end of this. The other side I can't visualise but I can make a bracket as you suggest, gearbox side.

My major problem is I live in a small village in France and even finding DIY bits is not easy in the area. As for anything other than metric threads!

hi leslie, no problem if you have access to the internet. try www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu and look under the fasteners cat. the bracket i mean is called perforated strip aps012. i would attatch a rubber bobbin to fairing side and bend a bracket [bends easy] to fit a suitable engine/frame bolt . the most important structual bracket at head stock you have already and you are only firming up bottom of fairing with these brackets. i do remember seeing on some avon fairings a horizontal bracket fitted on downtubes with car exhaust clamps but looked messy and ruined paintwork .

Hi Eddie, will try as you suggest and will let you know how I get on.
