I'm not sure if this really belongs on the Technical Forum, please forgive me if not, but I'm trying to find out more about the John Player Norton road bikes produced in 1974. In particular I'd be keen to know whether they were assembled on the production line at Andover or some where else. Does anybody know?

Any idea why they were assembled in Scotland? Seems an odd location.....

I seem to remember them to be assembled in Scotland, Frames coming in from Italy and motors shipped up from England.. That's why there are no accurate records of the numbers. motor and frame numbers were not matched.
Mine is originally Scottish registered. There is a list on the web by an American enthusiast who is trying to compile details of the JPN's that are still in existence.
