Kickstart gear bushing

Forums

Help needed.

I have a loose bushing in the kickstart gear, see the photo.

What shall I buy to replace it? Is there a part code to look for?

Any help very appreciated, thanks :-)

When Pierpaolo installs the new bush, can he not use Locktite to ensure that it will not come loose?

How do you know that the bush is going to be loose?

If there is a doubt, can not the hole that the bush goes into be measured and then the measurement compared to the new bushing OD prior to installation?

Does it matter if the gear spins on the bush or the bush spins on the shaft? I cannot be certain but I don't think the bush can escape, can it? Does the gear wobble on the shaft? If not, why not leave it?

Replying to Dave, the bush is presumably designed to spin on one component and be fixed relative to the other.

I'd be surprised if it was supposed to be fixed on the shaft, and I suspect that it can't be a good idea for the bush to be free with respect to both.

The Box has several bushes that are a finger push to install. and that is normal. If it does not cause a problem for them I doubt it will be an issue for a gear that has little real use. Put a new one in anyway and get riding ,life is shorter than you think.
