A little diversion from my normal query. With the crank slot used to show position on firing stroke 28deg BTDC; do you then line up the trigger device with the “reluctor” and that’s it?
For a points setup if makes sense but I’m a bit confused how the electronic gets set same way. Strobe is on order....
Cheers

Perfect,
... now it all makes sense with a 5mm strip. I also found a copy of your document at:
The bike was bought with it fitted and after a little work on oil leaks I was left with a loose reductor. I couldn't work out if you set it to TDC and ignore the 28 degree slot or it calculated the 332 degrees (360 - 28) from the last impulse...
That will be tonight's entertainment.
Thanks David
Best regards
Jon

I could try scanning the two…
I could try scanning the two pages I photo'd on my phone camera. They are already photocopies after the original was partly eaten by slugs! Hence the gaps...

Comprehensive details in the link
Robert; If you open the link I sent to David in the response there is a 30+ page document on installation/testing of a Rita for several models of machines, singles, twins, triples and even Magneto replacement.
If its not opening I'll email them to you... and some others I found whilst should be working....
How's he Winkers???

It's never (yet) given me…
It's never (yet) given me the slightest problem. It can't go to full advance on a flat battery because the advance curve is effectively mechanical because it depends on the speed of approach of the rotor to the reluctor. I think Al Osborne described it on here once. He seems to be able to repair them if you are unlucky enough to need it.

Thank's Guys. I'm winking ok Jon, just a few jobs ,fix cracked tank bracket, new oil pipes, seat fastener, back wheel to replace ,fit tanks fill oil,fit exhausts, start up,run a bit then remove tank and tighten up head. Run for 50 miles and do it again a couple of times. Easy peasy !!.

There is a little loose tab that came with the system. It's probably hidden in a box somewhere. Easy to make another. I'll see if I can dig mine out later to measure it. This sets the gap (about 5mm) between the tip of the reluctor and one of the two tips on the rotor. I always have to look up the instruction sheet to get it the right way round. When I can't find the instructions, I google for them!
