Info on my bike re Norton Commando Despatch Records

The only records I have for Corbett's are both UK based. 

Corbett's of New Cross in s.e. London and Corbett and Ellis Motorcycles of Andover Hampshire.

Roy Bacon's Norton Twin Restoration (pg 222) has the following colours for Fastback 1971:

British racing green, signal red, fireflake royal blue, or golden bronze for tank and tail unit.

Side covers in black.

From what I've seen of the records, dealers were noted in the UK but overseas warranty was the responsibility of the importer so only their name was shown. Never any detail of the dealer lower down the chain.

There is probably a chance that it had a major blow up in the 1970s, was never put on the Swansea computer and had to be registered when it was re-built in 1990...

I find it hard to avoid the impression that in addition to many paper local authority records not being added, Swansea deleted a lot of inactive computerised records at some point...they were certainly computerised when I first owned a bike in 1976 which ought to mean that any 'P' suffix vehicle is on the record, but lots aren't...only if they were taxed into the 1980s...

The Dispatch records, will at list in the Agent column the name of the agent, and the destination or the location. For North America, or the USA,  it would show the Agent as Berliner, in the locations of New York, Los Angles, and Seattle. There is also noted in the dispatch records, bikes that were personal exports. These would give the owners name, and the intended destination. Berliner was also listed as J.B.Matchless in later years, and the date of dispatch was added in the date column for all years. For the UK it would have been the same, so for Streamline Motors there is SE22, -which is South London - along with the date of dispatch. This would be for all bikes dispatched to agents in the UK, and the world. To know where a bike was sent to you would need, to have either the engine or the frame number. With out these specific pieces of info, you cannot determine, to who and where the bike was sent when first dispatched from the factory. All UK dispatched bikes, were given the dealer name, location, and the date of dispatch.

If the first purchaser in the UK returned the buyer's card the name and address is also listed
