Since I wasa boyI have admired the Commando and last November I finally picked up a 1971 LR fastback...rough but running nicely. In March I did a mini rebuild and after a little problem with the pinch bolt fork leg got it MOT'd last weekend. This week I went for a long run up the Glens (in Scotland) - first time I had actually ridden the bike any distance. Now I get what its all about and its been worthwhile...more than worthwhile!
I wish I had bought one earlier. Some bike! Just thought I would share this revelation with you all...but I guess you already know.
Happy days.

Very nice. I see, from the exhaust colour, that you ride it as it was meant to be ridden!
