Check out the Mk3 for sale on ebay (850 Electric Start)
R/H Gear change, so any guesses as to whether it's a late engine/primary drive in an earlier bike, or a lot of earlier parts on a Mk3?
Not connected with the bike or sale in any way, nor wishing to cast aspersions on it....... just thought it an interesting bike.
Interesting indeed- looks…

Interesting indeed- looks like a well built bike. I also own a 'bitza' consisting of a 1973 mk5 fitted with a mk3 power unit. Works for me as I have other RH shift bikes, and I have electric start!
Did you keep to a chain driven primary? I ask because when I mooted the idea of belt driveand electric start here the general consensus was: bad idea.......

Yes, still running standar…
Yes, still running standard mk3 primary drive, i.e. chain with tensioner. Personally, I'm not fussed about belt drives- what's wrong with a well lubricated, correctly tensioned chain running in an enclosed environment? I have no hassles with dry clutch bearings and I can get the parts off the shelf if required. I'm sold!
