I would like to cut a clutch adjustment access hole in the domed part of my chaincase so that I do not have to remove the whole item just to make a small clutch free play adjustment. Later Dominators than my 1959 model had a hole and rubber grommet fitted here for ease of use. Where can I get a suitable grommet and what size is the hole? Many thanks if you can measure yours and suggest a grommet supplier!

You do not need a hole in the clutch cover for clutch adjustment , the 1959 machines have a adjuster on the gearbox end of the clutch cable for this adjustment, and at the lever end there was no adjuster , to adjust the clutch with the cover off first adjust the center adjuster screw and locking nut first and then take up any small amount of slack with the gearbox cable adjuster, replace cover with waterproof grease like slikaline red grease , do up the center nut up to two threads showing and then stop, then top up with Lucas Clutch oil you find this on Ebay oils its for HD motorcycles formulated by Lucas Oils and lubricates the chain and bearing in the clutch without any clutch slip or drag, its nice stuff so try it out, yours anna j
