Frame Vin Plate Build month and year

Hello

My 1973 750 Interstate does not have the month and year of build stamped onto the red frame vin plate but is does have the frame number stamped underneath which incidentally matches the engine number 

was this a common issues ? -

Heard it a few times so nothing to worry about and it's normal for engine and frame number to match pre MK3.
