IKON shocks

Forums

Hello,

IKON do an expensive shock (7610-1653 SP9) listed for the Commando and a cheaper version for the more "budget conscious"  (their words) 76-3044 , the more expensive has rebound damping, is that something worth the extra £ on a nearly 50 year old bike, has anyone got the 7610-1653 SP9 and any comments to make on it?

thanks,

Gerald

They both have rebound damping but on the expensive one its adjustable, cheap is fixed. I rebuild old Koni's which have the same internals and the adjustable rebound is good but once you have the right setting you tend then to leave it as is. Pity that Ikon did not copy the Koni 76 series with adjustable rebound but not with the fancy 7610 dial a ride wheel which is the expensive bit. The Koni 76 series rebound adjustment is a faff but once the right setting is found it can be left alone.

Hi Gerald

The Ikon Basix are excellent value for money, I am really pleased with them.
