SU carb settings

Hi all, can anyone who is running an SU carb on a 850 give me a setting they are using on their mixture (jet height) screw, ie turns out from full in.

Ive just refurbed mine and set up as per SU instructions with the jet level with the inlet tunnel, that gives me 5 turns out which I think is way leaner than I was originally running.

If anyone can tell me what turns out they are running it would be very helpful thanks.

Hi Marcus, I recently bought an SU'd Mk2A. I've not delved into the carb yet, but if you describe which screw to check, I'll do it. The bike has those black end cap silencers otherwise it's standard. I also have the original fitting instructions, if you want a copy,

Hi Roger, thanks for the reply, its really the only screw on the side of the carb thats adjustable, it raises and lowers the jet inside the carb to adjust the mixture.

Have you tried a Gunson Colourtune, that's what I used to use on mine.

I've reverted to Amals, apologies can't remember the setting.
