It doesn't appear on the AN parts list for the MK3 (at least not on the drawings for the gearbox)
This has got me thinking how much do AN supply that is not on the parts list for various models? Any chance that AN's website can list/ illustrate this stuff?
Quite bit is on the web but not shown on the exploded diagrams. The search item description / part number box is useful for this, you don't need the whole part number. Remember that the 06.xxxx would be a Commando part, 50.xxxx would be a Rotary part, etc there is overlap like the 03.xxxx numbers.

It can be replaced
I've done a couple of these, drilled out and machined up a new button- come- rivet and peened it into place.
Wouldn't recommend welding it, too easy to alter the hardness of the camplate.
