Adaptability

Can someone explain the little adaptor thingy found joining the long oil tank hose to the short oil tank hose on my  74 Mk 2a ?  I have recently had the engine rebuilt but as far as i can see it doesn"t have one . Should it.  Should i worry?         Thanks ,  Worried of Wiltshire.

The only 'adaptor thingy' I can think of is a reducer in the breather pipe to go from 1/2" at the crankcase to 3/8" on the oil tank. There was also a T-piece for the chain oiler, can't rember which line that weny in. Failing that you'll have show us a picture.

Still no explaination as to what the thingys for    In my 850 parts book its called an "Adaptor" ,is that American for "Reducer"?  Anyway, if any bodyknows what its for, I would welcome an answer. Thanks

The pre mk3 oil tanks had two 3/8" spigots on top so the 1/2" crankcase breather pipe needs an adaptor 062617 to fit it - any old garden hose reducer will do plus a piece of 3/8" pipe. The mk3 tanks had one 3/8" and one 1/2" spigot so no adaptor was required
