When replacing the cylinder head it is fiddly to get & keep all rocker ball-ends in the pushrod sockets. It is easy if, with the head propped half an inch up from the barrel, each one is done and immediately kept in place with an elastic band running from the tappet adjuster to the head steady stud on top of the rocker box before moving to the next one. Pulling the tappet end up keeps the ball end in the cup at the top of the push rod.

The 2 seat prongs on the frame crosstube make a handy place to keep a couple of rubber bands for this purpose - and I put them to good use one time at the TT, when I replaced a head gasket on Douglas Prom back in the 70's!
