I have recently aquired a 1975 mk3 850 Norton Commando it is fitted with a Smiths electronic speedo that is powered by a HALL sender unit driven by the original Norton rear speedo drive.On driving the bike i found the speedo did not work ,so i bought a new HALL sender unit from Smiths and attempted to fit it to the bike however the new sender cable has a brass box section sleeve that slides on to the sender unit, the old one has no such brass sleeve,Can anyone tell me what the brass sleeve is for ?.at first i thought it was to immitate the speedo cable but it will not fit in the speedo drive shaft as it appears to be the same size can anyone help
