Hi,
Phil is correct in that originally they were all painted by hand. However, it isn't a job for the unskilled.
I am definately in the 'unskilled' department at painting stripes, so when I sprayed my tank and panels I used the stick on vinyl stripes. To get them to go round the corners nicely, I borrowed my wife's hairdryer and gently warmed the stripe before making them go round the corners. This process gave no kinks, and a couple of layers of clear lacquer has kept them that way.
Important is to keep the heat on a low setting and for as short a time as you can.
Hope this helps,
George.

Adhesive vinyl pin stripes…
Adhesive vinyl pin stripes of all sizes, colours and even configuration are available on ebay. Just remember to specify UK supply when specifying otherwise you will get hundred of entries from the USA, unless of course you are in the Americas...............
Google is also your friend in your search. HTH.
