rear mudguard fitting .

Forums

Rebuilding 1973 commando 750 roadster, the original mudguard had far to many holes in it, and the fitting was a botched job and was attached only by the two horn bolts . I have a replacement stainless mudguard with no pre- drilled holes in and ready to fit, mmmmm

On checking the parts list there is a square plate pt no 06-2169 (rear mudguard support brkt) what does this plate fix to, the holes are not the same hole centres as the horn.

ideas will be appreciated .

thanks Marshall

See attached pic. There are two holes in the rear frame bracing plate 06.1973 (See Andover Norton parts lists). The mudguard bracket bolts on to these - mount the spacers on the rear of the bracing plate to allow the bracket to sit level.

Here are a couple of pictures showing the brackets in position, the two horn bolts that go through the mudguard can be seen lower down. If you are local to Bedford my mudguard is off and clean, you can measure it.
