Guys, I have read on another forum that Plumstead commando's have a suffix 'P' on their engine no.
My reg April '69, according to records should have been built here?
there is no suffix on my engine no [which I believe to be the 1623 built] can anyone elaborate on this pse? i.e is this a fact if so when was this suffix discontinued etc? kind regards

The letter P was added after the engine number, so that letter P would have been discontinued when the Plumstead factory was closed down and then moved to Andover. There was some thing in the listing that gave the number of the first bike that was built at Andover after the Plumstead factory site was compulsory bought for council housing. The letterP would have been added as such 20M3/126125/P
