Does anyone have any experience with the reproduction Model 7 tanks from India which seem to be all over ebay like a rash at the moment?
Superficially they look pretty good, but their very low price makes me suspicious.
I know the AJS and Matchless owners club had a batch of G15CS (Norton P11) tanks made up by an Indian manufacturer in Delhi and they were excellent, so thought one might be worth a punt?
Anybody know better before I invest?

Thanks Jim, thought that might be the case, I have seen the tank you refer to, been listed for about a month now with no takers. Can't imagine why!

In a word they are awful. The recesses for the knee grips are the worst area as they are not even close to an original. I have seen one or two finished and fitted and they simply don't look right at all.
Original tanks do turn up from time to time normally in the £100-£150 bracket and in need of quite a bit of work. There is one on there at the moment for an early 53 model given away by the lack of chrome (nickel shortage around this time) and which it has to be said is vastly overpriced!
