Hi. After much deliberation I have chosen to replace the Amals with a single Mikuni on my MK111 Commando. After much phoning I discovered a company that supplied the throttle cable with the kit. Most had claimed these were difficult to find and supplied the kit minus the cable?? Well shock horror and with my faith in mankind taking yet another battering my kit arrived with a throttle cable that the nice man tells meprobably will not fit, I have yet to discover exactly why, that is why he sent it and why it will not fit.
If needs must I could cut and solder a cable to fit but I would not be completely happy with my soldering and would possibly spend every mile waiting for the inevitable. so my question is has anyone whom has fitted a Mikuni on a MK111 found a cable supplier that can provide a cable that canbe hooked up without cutting and soldering?

Thank you Charles, I will investigate immediately. I have a Mikuni on my 1972 Commando and have to admit all is fine whereas all I seem to do with the Amals is reset and fettle.

on the advice of RGMs i bought an amal mk2 cable from them it fitted straight on the mikuni ,also you cant solder new cables because of the stainless content i have been told?? regards nick

You can solder stainless steel wires but it's difficult and requires Phosphoric acid for flux (available from body piercing specialists) the problem is the wire quickly gets too hot and dirty.

Wasn't any soldering needed, can't honestly remember if it needed adapting in any other way as the Mikuni didn't stay on forlong!
