Mk3 exhaust downpipe position

Forums

Hi again everyone my 1975 Mk3 has the peashooter exhaust silencers with down pipes that fit but there origin I do not know they were in situ at purchase, anyway my problem is my downpipes are lower than the frame tubes which makes it very awkward and time consuming to get the bike on my lift which I really do not want to change as it has worked very well with every other bike I have had, it is the eazy rizer, I am able to use it if I pack it with wood to fit between exhausts but only lifting from the timing chest side anyway my question is are exhaust downpipes available from stock that do not sit below the frame or am I stuck with this forever ? Many thanks Chris

Commando.. from the photo but those downpipes don't look correct - the bends look too acute.

I found with my 2A 850 that the best layout was separate pipes - no balance pipe - with spherical seats. That allowed me to tweak positioning so everything looked OK.
