I'm back, work in progress.

Been a member since 1980 and this is my first post!

Not rode my Commando in 10 years due to a car accident that left me with several breaks in each leg but i have been riding my modern Ducati.

A mate has regularly started my bike but it has never been easy due to no battery and a mk3 boyer ignition. I eventually had to hot wire the ignition to a spare battery but the last time we tried and failed so the bike has not started in a year.

I am know retired, have been working on right leg strength so before I go down the Alton route I would like to get in running order again.

So expect a few questions on electronic ignition and starter motors.

Review the alternative CNW starter, better engineered than the Alton so best for long term use beyond the warranty period.
