IKON SHOCKS

My Konis are marked 76-1373 which are still listed on the Ikon website. These are non dial-a-rides. There used to be a suggestion that the latter would not fit Mk3 850s due to clearance problems and late '74 Mk2s used the Mk3 style top gusset.

I've always been very happy with the Konis so the Ikons should be good too.

I have a '72 Interstate. A few years ago after a lot of research I settled on Falcon shocks. A decision I have not regretted. Three notches up for relaxed riding and four for spirited. The Dogs'

Yep, I can recommend falcon shocks too, plus Robin is a good guy to deal with.

If I were in the market for shocks I would be looking at Falcon. Spares and service in this country not Australia.

I have IKONS on my 850 MK3 for 6 years and I am very satisfied with it, my wife says " since I am as in an armchair "Attention there is a specific model for 850 MK3.

I have not long fitted 7610 1653 SP9 Ikon's (chrome spring and black body) on my '74. These have adjustable damping and preload.

Have not done any decent rides yet so can't comment on the performance.

The IKON application list has the equivalent as being 76-1373 but that is only adjustable by removing the spring, they do not list the 7610 (its a 2009 list so out of date) for a Commando as the dial-a-ride version fouls the chainguard as the spring is a larger diameter but it is doable with spacers and bending of chainguard in which case you want 7610-1282 which is 1mm shorter (329 vs 330), don't have the specs of the 7610 1653 so that may have the smaller diameter spring and so the better option. The Falcons look good but never fitted one, the Koni'sI use are very good.

I have IKON 7610 â 1653 (chrome body, black spring) on my'75 MkIII, these were installed 4 years ago and have made a great difference (I also fitted a Lansdowne conversion & switched to Avon RoadRiders at the same time).

I purchased mine from Norman Hyde, good service;I am very happy with them, no mods required to chain guard etc.
