Hi all,
I have a 1974 Mk2a 850 and have an intermittent problem with electrical power whenthe ignition key is in the first "drive" position as the engine cuts out frequently. When I turn to the next position with lights on, it carries on as normal. The obvious reason would be a faulty switch but it is onlyabout a year old and I would expect if it was a dodgy connection within the switch it would show itself more when I turn the switch on and off. It seems either to work or not work and any particular time whether you repeatedly turn it on and off. I am wondering if it is not the switch but something else, like a bad connection, away from the switch but I am not clever enough to be able to work out where this might be from the wiring diagram. I wonder if anyone has any ideas.
Many thanks Keith

Sounds like the switch, there are some low quality copies around plus Lucas had some made in China, to their specs but not sure of durability. If its fine in the lights on position that rules the kill switch out.

Thanks John, I bought it from Andover Norton but do not where they source from. I rang them to see if they had any ideas but it seems it just me.The kill button was a good idea though.
