Headlight Ears

Can anyone tell me if these are Commando headlight ears? They look like the ones that fit pre Commando Twins/singles except they don’t have the slightly narrower section at the bottom to fit into the top of the fork shrouds?

I have always assumed that HL brackets with slots are  Commando  and those with round holes are Dommy  .  But its probably not quite that simple.

I have checked my bikes, '57 ES2, '66 Atlas, '67 650SS & '69 Fastback, first of all they all have recesses to go over the bottom yoke, the ES2 has round holes for the headlight bolts where as the others have slots which I believe was a change made across the the range around the mid '60s. As the pictured ones have slots they were made for something mid to late '60s but if they don't have recesses to clear the bottom yokes are they for light weight or AMC?, or badly made replicas!

My ‘69 Fastback sold long ago as I recall had black painted  h/lamp brackets like this with a conical tube but my current Mk 1a and Mk 3 850s have chromed brackets with parallel sided tubes.

Thank you folks, looks like early commando then, the only remaining confusion then is the lack of recesses, the ones on the Andover site clearly show them with them. The later chromed ones that are parallel sit on o rings and don’t have the recess, neither do these currently on eBay

Buyer beware, the last link that Dan put up it is hard to tell weather the recesses are there or not. When Norton updated for '71 they changed the fork yoke and the headlight brackets and yes the 71 and later have 3 orings [on each side] as packers.

I'm pretty sure the recesses are not on those, but in any case there seem to be a number of headlight ears like mine without the recesses, to me they look a bigger diameter than the parallel ones retained by o rings. 

So the question still remains, how do these ears attack to the yokes/upper shrouds?!

Looking at pictures the ears maybe for a P11 as it looks like they have an alloy spacer above the bottom yoke, I did own a Ranger but can't remember the set up.

Thanks Allan, good idea but from what I can see, although the P11 headlight ear may not  have the recess, it is much shorter as a consequence of the Aluminium spacer. The Black ears I have are the same length as my ES2 ears.
