Dunstall twin disc pads

Forums

Hi

Does anyone know if there is a source for brake pads for the dunstall twin disc? They are dinky! 35mm only in diameter with a lug to stop rotation.

Cheers

Paul

What you must not do is find some pads that are slightly larger and cut them down to size. Using the old pads as a template and an angle grinder to shape the metal and a chisel or dremel to shape the braking material. You are not going to do this now are you, so you wont have to wear a dust mask either to protect from pad dust.

I did in fact make my own from regular commando pads. They are easy to do IF you have ALL the correct dimensions. So may be $12 and an hours work or pay some guy in new mexico over $150 to do it for you. Adding the little wire is not difficult if you are engineering minded.

It is NOT a beginners job!

No asbestos in mine and I would not do any abrasive grinding anyway, it is not needed.
