Greetings all!
In Roadholder #315 on page 23 there is a pic of a Commando with a seat I have never seen before. The bike is apparently owned by Hans Heitmann. Wondering if this can be purchased or is a custom?
Thanks!

Further investigation and clues here and other sites led me to Klemph. They have a couple of models that seem to fit the bill.

There are companies that will recover your existing seat, I know of one in Loughborough. That may be an alternative to getting a complete new seat.(And be more cost effective)

Alan - I had P&P on the Suppliers and Services list and have now annotated the entry to show that they do stepped seats for Commandos.
Roger - I don't know the seat company in Loughborough. Could you give me a link?

Afew of years ago I got hold of an unused Norman Hyde seat for my Mk3 Interstate. After a while the seam at the bottom of the step split ,the vinyl was paper thin and of poor quality. I sent the cover to RK Leighton who used it to make up a template, the resulting coveris fromquality vinyland a perfect fit at a good price.

Hans has the same seat as I do and it was made by Norman Hyde. Unfortunately, they are no longer available. My one is wearing out in places and I do not know how I am going to replace it. I too would be interested to hear if anybody else is producing a similar seat or even just the cover.
