Commando mk3 side covers

The candy-apple red was applied over a silver base. All the original red panels that I've seen were also red on the inside - not particularly well finished so the shade could vary a bit and certainly not lacquered.

My MK3 only had the RH panel but that was originally red on the inside (as was the outside before a PO painted it black.

MyblackMk III has panels that are black both inside & out, I would doubt that they deliberately used adifferent inner colour - it would have added to production costs!
