Hi,
I am sure that this has probably been asked before but does anyone have experience of applying 2k clear coat over Andover Norton vinyl decals for "Norton" and "Commando" badges. My tank and panels are finished up to base coat but now I have to decide if I apply the decals now then spray the clear coat over them which would be my preferred option or apply the decal last of all. Thanks

I used 2K over vinyl decals…
I used 2K over vinyl decals about three months ago without any problems - no wrinkling or crackling since. Much easier job than water transfers and no drying time…

I tested a spare decal that…
I tested a spare decal that I had and it went ok so I have applied the decals and clear coated over them. So far so good. Look so much better under the lacquer and no sharp edges. Once cut back and polished the edges should be also non existent.

You need to test the decal with your chosen clearcoat first in case its not compatible, Classic Transfers supply offcuts for clearcoat testing when they supply decal's if asked so best ask AN for an offcut so you can do the test without risk to the decal. Done correctly the clearcoat over decal is better looking job.
